HOW TO REGISTER A DIVORCE IN PAKISTAN BY HUSBAND?

In Pakistan, a husband can divorce his wife by pronouncing three divorces at one time or by issuing one divorce each month. There is no law that prohibits husbands from making three divorce pronouncements at once. A written divorce must be executed on a non-judicial stamp worth Rs. 200/-. After the written divorce is executed, the husband is required to send a copy of the divorce to the wife. It's important to note that, under Pakistani family law, the husband is required to file an application with Chairman Union Council within 7 days of the divorce in order to get a Divorce Effectiveness Certificate. Upon receiving an application, the Chairman of the Union Council shall appoint an Arbitration Committee to mediate between the husband and wife in an attempt to reconcile. In this regard, notices will be sent to each party to appear before the Arbitration Committee of the Union Council. If no reconciliation is made between the parties within ninety days, a Divorce Effectiveness Certificate shall be issued, and the dissolution of marriage under Pakistani law shall be complete.
